Ride for the Red 2009

Under overcast skies and with a chill in the air 84 motorcycles’ and ATV’s gathered at the Barron County Fairgrounds in Rice Lake for the 4th Annual Ride for the Red! Saturday August 29th marked record breaking day with 120 riders showing up to support the Western Wisconsin Chapter. The 2009 ride was an amazing event that not only brought in the riders, but also drew attention to the Chapter and our presence in Western Wisconsin . You can’t help but draw some attention when 60 bike’s stop traffic as they roll through town.

Rainbow Catering and Tracy Nelson provided the picnic after the ride and there was not one dish on the table that people didn’t love! State of Mind , a blues/rock band from the cities, performed during the picnic. They were incredible and we thank them for donating their time and wonderful talent!

The event highlight was the drawing for our 2009 raffle. Joanie Lorenz (Eau Claire) won the Eau Claire Date Night package; Phil Soltis ( Shell Lake ) won the 2008 Bronc Colt 49cc Scooter; and Paul Hoffman ( Black River Falls ) won the 2009 Harley Davidson Softail Heritage Classic.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Chapter and this event by purchasing raffle tickets or attending the ride. We couldn’t have an event without our sponsors. Please look over our sponsorship lists and support those who support the Red Cross . Finally, thanks to the event committee, the Chapter staff, interns and board for making this a banner year!
