Disaster Action Team

Respond to single-family disasters, such as fires, and render on scene assistance to emergency relief workers and provide for the immediate needs of the family such as food, shelter, clothing, immediate medical needs, and baby needs.  Volunteers work as a team with two people being on call together.  Volunteers have a chapter furnished "run kit" in their homes and are called when a disaster occurs in their area.  Requires a valid drivers license.

Receptionist

Answer phones and greet people with a friendly smile as they come into the office.  You may also assist with mailings, data entry, and other small projects while at the front desk.  Requires one to two days of training at the Altoona office.  Hours are flexible.

Health and Safety Instructor

Teach individuals, community groups, and businesses lifesaving skills in CPR, First Aid, and Babysitting. Also need instructors for Basic Aid Training, First Aid for Children Today, and Water Safety.

Organize A Blood Drive!

The need is constant, the gratification is instant.  Gather your friends, family, co-workers together to donate life saving blood.  Organize a community or work place blood drive.  Blood drives are especially needed during the holidays.
