Volunteer in Your Community
Volunteering with the American Red Cross often means helping your friends and neighbors during disasters; and teaching them to prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. There are many ways you can help in your community! See the listings below for how you can help.
Disaster Action Team
Respond to single-family disasters, such as fires, with another team member. Render on scene assistance to emergency relief workers and provide for the immediate needs of the family. Training is provided free of charge. A minimum 8 hours of classroom time is required to respond. A valid drivers license is required.
Community Disaster Education Presenter
Educate your community to prepare for and respond to disasters and other emergencies. Schools, community groups, workplaces, and neighborhoods will benefit from Masters of Disaster, Be Red Cross Ready, CPR, First Aid, and more!
Health and Safety Instructor
Teach individuals, community groups and businesses lifesaving skills in CPR, First Aid, and Babysitting. Instructors are also needed for Basic Aid Training, First Aid for Children Today, and Water Safety.
Financial Development
The American Red Cross operates solely on donations from the community! Prepare your community for the small and large disasters through fundraising. You could be a Red Cross Real Hero, hold a Penny War or have a pancake breakfast and more! Funds can be designated according to your request.
Organize a Blood Drive
Gather your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers together to donate life saving blood; organize a community or workplace blood drive!
