 New Wilderness and Remote First Aid Course

        Train for Emergencies in Wilderness and Remote Environments
        An ideal offering for American Canoe Association instructors and other members, the new 16-hour American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid course is based on new Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines. Course participants must be at least 14 years of age and possess current certification in adult CPR/AED.

        Become a Wilderness and Remote First Aid Instructor
        Whether you are a current instructor in wilderness first aid, or you are interested in becoming an instructor for the new Red Cross course, we need you! Contact your local office for more information. 

        Wilderness and Remote First Aid Topics:

        Course includes the CPR review on the first evening.

        American Red Cross Wilderness & Remote First Aid  

        This 20-hour* class is designed to give you solid first aid skills in a wilderness setting. This course teaches first aid skills for situations in which emergency care is delayed for long periods, or self evacuation is necessary. Includes injury prevention, proper advanced preparation, basic and more advanced first aid techniques, short-distance transfer and evacuation techniques.  *Includes the Adult CPR/AED prerequisite.
